ONE MORE person has died with Covid-19 in Dorset hospitals.

Data released by NHS England on Wednesday, February 24, revealed that the death was reported by University Hospitals Dorset, which runs Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Poole Hospital.

The death occurred on February 22.

Since the start of the pandemic, a total of 820 people have died with coronavirus in the county's hospitals.

The total number of deaths at University Hospitals Dorset now stands at 647 deaths.

Dorset County Hospital's total stands at 103, while Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation's remains at 70. 

Nationally, a further 302 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 82,156.

Patients were aged between 32 and 103 years old. 

All except 14 (aged 32 to 91 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

The South West reported 23 deaths.
