SANDBANKS resident Harry Redknapp could join the cast of Eastenders, it is being reported.

National newspapers are reporting Harry has impressed TV bosses despite having had no formal acting experience and is lined up for a potential part as the sidekick to Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter, played by Danny Dyer.

Harry has previously expressed interest in joining the Albert Square cast.

The 73-year-old managed a variety of Premier League clubs including AFC Bournemouth and Southampton FC before winning I'm A Celebrity in 2018.

Last year fans of Harry got an insight into his life in Sandbanks where he has lived for more than 20 years in Harry Redknapp’s Sandbanks Summer.

During the show, Harry was joined by a host of famous friends, including Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock and Chris Kamara.

He took his guests to the annual Sandbanks Beach Polo Tournament, a medieval festival at Corfe Castle, a powerboat race and a camping trip on Brownsea Island.

Other projects in recent years include his podcast, The Harry Redknapp Show.

Harry also starred on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway alongside his son Jamie on Saturday, February 20.

The pair appeared in the popular segment Get Out Of Me Ear.
