A MAN has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash in Bournemouth.

The driver of one of the two cars involved, a man in his 40s, was treated in hospital for injures.

He was driving a blue Peugeot 106 on Alma Road around 12.25pm on Wednesday, February 10, when the collision – involving a silver Kia Sportage – took place.

His injures are not thought to have been serious.

However, Dorset Police say the driver of the Kia failed to stop at the scene.

Officers also say the Kia had been reportedly stolen from an address in Winton between 2pm on Sunday, February 7 and 8.45am on Monday, February 8.

A 31-year-old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of being the driver of a vehicle that failed to stop after a road accident and theft of a motor vehicle.

He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
