DORSET may have missed out on snow but some incredible icicles have formed across the county.

Plunging temperatures have helped to create some truly spectacular icicle hedges with icicles also spotted hanging from bridges.

Echo Camera Club member Lauren Bush took pictures of hundreds of iciciles she'd spotted hanging from trees and bushes.

Temperatures are set to remain on the cold side over the next few days.

A yellow weather warning for snow has been in force in Dorset since the early hours of Monday morning. It comes to an end at around midnight tonight.

An amber cold weather alert is also currently in place

However, Dorset has escaped the heavy snow which has been seen across the far south east of the country.

There was a very light dusting of snow which settled briefly on cars in parts of Dorset on Tuesday morning, but this quickly disappeared.

Today’s high will be 3C at around 3pm but it will ‘feel like’ -2C or -1C during the day.

Tonight will see temperatures fall even further with it feeling like -7C.

Posting on Twitter this morning, Bournemouth-based forecaster DorsetSnow said: “Probably the coldest night of this cold spell tonight. Widely down to -4/-5c and -6c possible in frost hollows. Cloud cover will once again increase across coastal areas during the morning.”

From Thursday, temperatures will climb slowly with highs of around 4C expected by Saturday.
