A PHARMACY in Poole is the latest to offer the Covid-19 vaccination.

Bryant Pharmacy in Ashley Road, Parkstone joins two other pharmacies in Wallisdown and Christchurch offering vaccinations to vulnerable residents.

Jabs at the site started yesterday, Thursday February 4, but people have been warned to stay away until they are invited.

Meanwhile patients over 70 at the Highcliffe Medical Centre have been urged to call the surgery to make an appointment for a vaccination.

A spokesman for the Bryant Pharmacy said: "People are asked not just turn up and ask for a jab as you could be delaying the vaccination process and disrupting the flow of those patients who are most vulnerable."

More than 100,000 doses of the vaccine have already been given to Dorset residents.

Superintendent Pharmacist Araz Shalli said: "We are really pleased that we are able to play a vital part in providing vaccinations to local people and have been working hard to ensure we can offer a safe and friendly environment for those people who accept their invitation to get their jab with us.

"We are asking people not to turn up if they haven’t been invited and offering reassurance that when it is their turn the NHS will be in touch."

At Highcliffe Medical Centre in Lymington Road, a spokesman said: "If you are aged 70 or over and have not received your first Covid vaccination please telephone the surgery on 01425 272203, option 7, to book an appointment."

Anyone who has been invited for vaccination and needs to travel is asked to read the recent travel advice issued by NHS Dorset CCG which is available along with other useful information at dorsetccg.nhs.uk/vaccinations.
