I WATCHED on the news of the police officer in hospital with Covid and other life-threatening conditions.

My deepest sympathies and best wishes are with him and his family.

The news item went onto highlight the urgent need for the police force to get the Covid vaccine, I totally agree that this should be priority.

I would just like to point out that as a paramedic the ambulance service is also at the back of the queue for vaccine.

Only this week we are being told we can receive the jab but is a very haphazard rollout for us.

Too late for me as I received a positive result today and many of my colleagues have already been off sick with Covid, thankfully none have been seriously ill.

We have been conveying Covid patients from the start of the pandemic.

Surely there is something wrong when front line workers like the police and ambulance staff have to fight to be vaccinated.
