NINETEEN more people have died with coronavirus in hospitals across Dorset, latest figures show.

Data released by NHS England shows a further nine people died with coronavirus at the University Hospitals Dorset Trust.

Two of the deaths occurred on January 19 and seven people died on January 18, taking the trust’s total since the start of the pandemic to 393.

Nine more people also died at the Dorset County Hospital, one on January 18, three on January 17 and four on January 16.

It means a total of 54 people have died at the Dorset County Hospital with the virus.

One more person died at the Dorset Healthcare Trust, on January 18, taking the trust’s total to 43.

A total of 490 patients have died in Dorset hospitals after recording a positive test.

Nationally, a further 1,027 people died in hospital with Covid-19, taking the total to 63,322.

Patients were aged between 29 and 101 years old and all but 49 had underlying health conditions.

The south west had 56 deaths.
