MOREBUS has reduced services due to a fall in demand for travel during lockdown.

Route 3 between Poole and Wimborne will be temporarily withdrawn and numerous other routes will see less frequent services from Sunday January 24.

"Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been transporting key workers across the region because we know how important it is for them to travel to-and-from work in order to provide vital public services" said Morebus managing director, Andrew Wickham.

"We understand just how important bus services are to those who rely on them to get to work. With that in mind, we have looked closely at our routes in Dorset, and are focussing our efforts on those which are most in demand.

"It means we can use our drivers elsewhere on our network, helping to keep the region moving.

"I would like to thank all our customers for their patience during this time, and commend the dedication of our front-line colleagues who are continuing to do a wonderful job in difficult circumstances."

The following changes come into effect on January 24:

• M1/M2 - minor frequency reduction

• Route 1 - will change from every 15 to every 30 minutes

• Route 3 - temporarily withdrawn, with route 4 serving Corfe Mullen every 30 minutes and Merley every 30 minutes

• Routes 5/6 - will change from every 10 to every 15 minutes

• Routes 8/9 - will change from every 15 to every 30 minutes

• Route 10 will change to every two hours

• Breezer 50 will change to every two hours on Sundays

• X6 will only operate between Poole and Ringwood

• X3 will operate to a school holiday timetable

"No other services are affected at this time" added Andrew. "However, we are constantly monitoring the situation and will increase or reduce services whenever necessary."
