The road was reopened by police at about 10am.

The fire led to the road being closed between the West Bourton turn-off and Longbury Hill Lane (turn-off to North Dorset Rugby Club).

Motorists were urged to find an alternative route while the road was closed.

No one was injured.

In a post on Facebook, North Dorset Police said: "B3081 now open after earlier incident. Thank you for your patience with diversions."
