FOUR more people have died in Dorset hospitals with coronavirus, latest figures show.

Data released by NHS England confirms four people died at the University Hospitals Dorset Trust with covid-19.

Two of the deaths came on January 5, one came on January 4 and one came on January 3.

It means since the start of the pandemic, 291 people have died with the virus at UHD.

At Dorset County Hospital, 32 people have died with the virus and 33 have at the Dorset Healthcare University Trust.

Across England, a further 674 people died in hospital with Covid-19, taking the total to 53,069.

Patients were aged between 21 and 101 years old and all but 29 had underlying health conditions.

The latest confirmed deaths across England date back to November 11.

The south west recorded 42 new deaths.
