A FURTHER six people have died with Covid-19 in Dorset hospitals.

Latest data from NHS England shows all six deaths were confirmed by University Hospitals Dorset.

Four of the deaths were recorded on December 27 with one on December 26 and another on December 28.

This means since the start of the pandemic, 96 deaths have been recorded by University Hospitals Dorset.

A total of 107 deaths were confirmed by Poole Hospital, 68 by Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals, 27 by Dorset County Hospital and 32 by Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust.

It comes as NHS officials said a further 365 patients who tested positive for the coronavirus have died in hospitals in England, bringing the total to 49,225.

Patients were aged between 26 and 101 years old.

All except 12, aged 43 to 92 years old, had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 12 to December 28, 2020.

On Monday, no new Covid-related deaths were recorded in Dorset hospitals for the second consecutive day.
