Bournemouth Boasts Best of British Barbering

A Bournemouth-based barbershop has been celebrating in style after picking up not just one, but two top industry awards.

The MOBAA’s – Modern Barber Awards, is the industry’s only dedicated award platform to celebrate creative and commercial success.

Bond’s Barbershop scooped the award for BEST TEAM and BEST INTERIOR 2020 after being selected by a panel of expert judges. The judges described the shop’s interior as “spectacular with it’s unique interior and high powered decor”.

The judges were also “impressed with the level of connection and presence displayed by the members”.

Charlotte Grant-West, Editor of Modern Barber Magazine said: “What a rollercoaster of year it has been (and that’s putting it mildly!).

" But through the toughest of times the industry has shown strength, creativity and perseverance. With only a couple of weeks to go before we see the back of 2020, there couldn’t be a better time to celebrate and applaud the Modern Barber Award winners who have given it their all and proved that success can still happen in a testing year.”

Mike Taylor went on to say “2020 has been a year like no other but despite all the challenges this year has brought, together as a team we are coming through the other side. A massive thank you and a huge well done to the whole team”.

With shops in Bournemouth, Broadstone, Lymington, Poole, Wareham, Westbourne and Winchester, Bond’s are a group of traditional, yet contemporary barbershops that deliver top quality and affordable haircuts for men and boys in stylish, comfortable and friendly surroundings. Each Bond’s Barbershop has a distinct ‘Bond’s’ style but with it’s own unique decor and furnishings.

Bond’s owner, Mike Taylor also won the award for TOP TRAINING 2020 with his barbering training academy Mike Taylor Education, based in Poole, Dorset. Mike Taylor Education was chosen by the judges for it’s “exceptional barber training programme”.

Mike Taylor went on to say “The Modern Barber Awards was the perfect opportunity for us to demonstrate the quality of training we deliver. To be shortlisted as a finalist was incredible but going on to win the award validates all the hard work the whole team have put in over the last 9 years.”
