RAPPER Professor Green gave pupils at a Hamworthy primary school an early Christmas present, when he hosted a special online class.

The celebrity appeared via videolink at Bayside Academy, Turlin Road, Turlin Moor, as part of a charity initiative called Magic Breakfast.

This initiative, run in partnership with Amazon, works by providing healthy breakfasts to schools in more disadvantaged areas of the country.

Professor Green, whose surprise online visit is one of a number of celebrity lessons organised to mark the charity's two millionth meal delivered by Amazon this year, gave youngsters a rap lesson.

The celebrity said: "This year, more than any other, we’ve seen how important it is to help those in need.

"Magic Breakfast and Amazon have done an immense job in delivering more than two million healthy meals to children this year.

"It was great to be able to add a bit of fun to the kids' breakfast this morning with a lesson in rap basics.

"I look forward to seeing them headlining the big stages in the future."

Meanwhile, Matt Vernon, Bayside Academy principal, said: “During lockdown, deliveries from Amazon supported around 50 families and at least 100 of our children.

"We know first-hand through speaking to these families how important this support was for them and how appreciative they were for the direct access to food during such a challenging time.

"It was a fantastic surprise for our children to have a lesson in rapping from Professor Green.

"On behalf of everyone at Bayside Academy, I’d like to say thank you to Magic Breakfast, Amazon and Professor Green for such a wonderful experience.”
