TWO drivers were clocked doing 45mph and 48mph in a 30mph zone by police who were patrolling the road following complaints about speeding.
Officers from the Dorset Police No Excuse team spent a couple of hours in Bere Road, Wareham, on Wednesday.
A spokesperson said: “Glad to report all but two motorists behaved themselves. The two that didn’t were stopped for doing 45mph and 48mph in the 30mph zone. Both received fixed penalties.”
Police also stopped a vehicle with a ‘private’ registration plate which came up as no insurance on the database.
“He had insured it on the number plate he bought the vehicle with, but failed to notify his insurance company with his new registration number,” the spokesperson said. “We checked with his insurance company as this ‘modification’ will sometimes invalidate an insurance policy. Fortunately for him his insurance company were happy to cover his journey.
“Though please bear in mind that some will not, so ensure your policy is always up to date with modifications.”
