A CLIFF slip has occurred at Hengistbury Head – with residents being urged to staff away from the bottom of the cliff.
Teams from BCP Council have been at the scene assessing the situation.
A safe zone has been marked around the slip, with a cordon and signage in place.
The local authorities have urged anyone visiting the coastal area to keep pets and children safe and away from fenced off areas.
A BCP Council spokeswoman said "We’re aware of a cliff slip at Hengistbury Head and teams are currently assessing this and have marked a safe zone around the slip.
"We’d ask members of the public to take care, stay away from the bottom of the cliff, and adhere to signage and the cordon when walking in this area.
"Please also keep your pets or children safe and away from any cordoned off areas."
