DRUGS were seized from a man after police officers patrolled a number of anti-social behaviour hotspots.

Police officers in Weymouth carried out patrols in The Marsh and Adsa car park after being identified as anti-social behaviour hotspots by local residents and businesses on Thursday evening (December 3).

While officers said there were “no major issues to report”, a man was stopped and searched behind Weymouth Swimming Pool & Fitness Centre on Knightsdale Road.

Police officers discovered drugs, which were seized from the man.

A spokesman for Weymouth and Portland Police said: “The Neighbourhood Policing Team have been on patrol throughout the evening around anti-social behaviour hotspots, including The Marsh and the Asda car park.

“This is as a result of reports from the local community and businesses regarding anti-social behaviour.

“We will continue to work closely with our partners and local businesses to address community concerns and also carry out high visibility patrols in the areas identified to us.

“Thankfully no major issues to report so far on Thursday evening.

“One male was stopped and searched behind the swimming pool resulting in drugs being located. Enquires continue.”
