A MOTORCYCLIST who issued with a ticket after undertaking and overtaking vehicles at speed at rush hour in Bournemouth had no speedometer on his vehicle.

Officers from the Dorset Police No Excuse team witnessed the 2004 Honda CRF 450 been ridden "irresponsibly" through traffic from Pokesdown into Boscombe on the evening of Wednesday, December 2.

A spokesperson for the team said: "When stopped, the rider wasn’t aware how fast they were travelling as there was no speedometer! - as you can see by the picture, there’s nothing there.

"The rider bought the bike from London, sold with no speedometer and thought it was fine.

"A ticket was issued for driving (riding) without due care and attention and no fitted speedometer, with already points on his licence (he didn’t know how fast he was going past a speed camera)."
