COASTGUARDS and ambulance staff were called out to Highcliffe after an 82-year-old man sustained a broken leg.
Southbourne Coastguards were contacted by the national maritime operations centre at 10.50am on Saturday November 28 to assist the South Western Ambulance Service.
The elderly man had to be taken by stretcher from Highcliffe beach up the cliffs to the awaiting ambulance, where he was then taken to hospital.
A spokesman from Southbourne Coastguards said: “we were tasked at 10.50am by the national maritime operations centre to assist South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust with an injured 82 year old male who had fallen and broken his leg near Highcliffe.
“We provided access for the ambulance and also assisted with casualty care and extraction via stretcher to the ambulance.
“With the casualty in the back of the ambulance we stood down and returned to station.”
