A MAN has been arrested after a bottle caused £2,000 of damage to a boat in Weymouth Harbour.

As previously reported, Dorset Police received a report of criminal damage at around 9.30am on Monday, October 26 that a bottle had caused damage to the windscreen of a boat in the harbour.

After carrying out enquiries in the area and checking CCTV footage, it is believed the incident occurred at around 11.30pm on Friday, October 23.

Dorset Police has now arrested a 42-year-old local man following a CCTV appeal.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “Following enquiries and a CCTV appeal, a 42-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an article with intent to destroy or damage property and he has been released under investigation.

“We would like to thank everyone who shared and responded to our appeal.”
