PUBLIC health officials in Dorset are set to hold an online broadcast to detail what the run up to Christmas will be like once the county knows which coronavirus restriction tier it will be placed in.

Tomorrow the Government is set to announce the tiers which local authority areas will be placed in from the end of the current national lockdown on Wednesday, December 2.

BCP Council, Dorset Council and Public Health Dorset have teamed up to host a live Covid-19 broadcast via Microsoft Teams from 7pm on Thursday, November 26.

Residents can submit questions in advance for panelists Cllr Nicola Greene, BCP Council portfolio holder for Covid resilience and public health, Sam Crowe, director of Public Health Dorset, and Aidan Dunn, Dorset Council executive director for corporate development.

The local authority representatives will also outline what the latest restrictions mean for local areas and council services.

"With Christmas just around the corner, we know that people across the BCP areas will want to understand what the latest rules from Government mean for them and their families," said Mr Crowe.

"Many people live and work across both council areas, so we wanted to hold a live session as soon as possible to discuss what the next few weeks will look like and hopefully answer some questions that people may have."
