AN ENTIRE year group at a Bournemouth school has been asked to self-isolate due to a positive coronavirus test.

Year 7 students at Bournemouth Collegiate School have now been told to move to remote learning until they can return to the classroom on Friday December 4.

In an email sent to parents this morning, Senior Deputy Head Maria Coulter said: "This morning we were made aware of a pupil in Year 7 who has tested positive for Covid-19.

"We are now asking all Year 7 pupils to self-isolate, action has been taken at the earliest opportunity. We will continue to monitor this and follow the school risk assessment as guided the government regulations.

"I have spoken with Public Health this morning and discussed the contact levels within Year 7. As a result all Year 7 will need to self-isolate until Thursday December 3 which is 14 days from any possible exposure. They will be able to access all of their lessons at home."
