A DRINK driver caught at the wheel of an Audi in Bournemouth while disqualified from driving has been issued with a suspended prison sentence.

Raduciu-Marian Toderica, aged 34, was in the dock following events on June 8, which involved him committing several motoring offences.

Toderica was driving the Audi A4 in Victoria Road, Bournemouth, despite being disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence.

He also did not have insurance, wilfully obstructed PC Kelland and provided a sample of 61 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath.

The defendant, whose address was given as Churchill Road, Poole, admitted the offences, along with commission of a further offence during the operational period of a suspended sentence.

Magistrates sitting in Poole on Friday, November 20, committed Toderica to prison for 16 weeks, suspended for 14 months.

He was ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work, disqualified from driving for three years and told to pay a £128 surcharge and £85 costs.
