A SECONDARY school in Christchurch has confirmed another solitary case of Covid-19.

Twynham School has said that the case, involving a student, has occurred within one of the school’s Year 11 class bubbles.

In a letter addressed to parents on Thursday November 19, the school said: “The affected student has not attended school since Monday November 16, and all close contacts who are required to isolate have been informed.

“We have engaged with Public Health England and Public Health Dorset and we are working closely with them, including following their procedures and advice to identify specific risks and manage this situation. We will continue to monitor and review this situation.

“Due to the extensive measures that we already implemented upon re-opening the school, including the strict use of seating plans, the only additional measure is for a further group of close contacts to self-isolate for 14 days.

“As reported nationally, there has been a sharp increase of cases, and we are confident that we can respond effectively to any further potential confirmed cases in the coming weeks and months.

“We are grateful for your support at this challenging time, as we work together as a community to remain vigilant and adhere to the recommended guidance.”
