LESS than 100 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Dorset over the last 24 hours, latest figures show.

Data released by the government shows 87 people tested positive for the virus in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on November 18.

52 of those cases came in the BCP Council area, taking the total since the start of the pandemic for BCP to 6,402.

In the seven days leading up to November 13, 954 cases were confirmed in BCP, giving a rolling infection rate of 241.3 per 100,000.

In the Dorset Council area, 35 people tested positive in the last 24 hours, taking the total to 2,856.

In the seven days leading up to November 13, 412 cases were confirmed, a rate of 108.8 per 100,000.

Elsewhere, 19 cases were confirmed in the New Forest, taking the total to 1,658.

274 people tested positive in the week leading up to November 13, a rate of 152.1 per 100,000 people.
