THE dog stolen from a van in Verwood last week has been reunited with its owner.

As reported, at around 4.40am on Wednesday November 11 a female Parsons Russell crossed with a Jack Russel called Perdy was stolen from a van in Coronation Road.

It prompted owner Gavin Hastings to hand out leaflets to try spread the word about the missing pet.

Gavin said: “She is extremely important to me.

“I'm just carrying on with my life but there is a big hole because my dog's gone.

“I'm gutted. I don't know whether to think she is dead or have to live with the hope that one day I will get her back.

"I just want my dog back."

At the time, police community support investigator Steve Willis, of East Dorset police, said: “The owner of Perdy is desperate to be reunited with her and we are carrying out a number of enquiries in a bid to locate her.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have seen Perdy, or has information about her whereabouts, to please get in touch.

“I would also urge any motorists who were travelling along Coronation Road around the relevant time and may have captured any dashcam footage to assist my enquiries to please contact Dorset Police.”

And following a police appeal, police were informed Perdy has been reunited with owner Gavin.

Dorset Police confirmed enquiries into the incident are ongoing and no arrests have been made.
