A NEW cheese and wine bar is coming to Canford Cliffs and will be open just in time for Christmas.

Renoufs, which already has five bars locally, is opening its sixth in Haven Road next month.

Owner Trevor Ayling said: “We are so excited to be opening our sixth venue in Canford Cliffs.

“It’s a community we have wanted to be a part of from the very beginning of our journey, more than five years ago.

“We were offered the old Harry’s Bar some six months ago, which had sadly closed its doors after being in the community for years.

“We wanted to offer the residents of Canford Cliffs another small and cosy social hub and have been working hard behind the scenes ever since to bring our latest venue to Haven Road.

“We are passionate about working as part of the community, as well as showcasing local produce.”

As well as the new bar, a new cheese shop will also open, and Mr Ayling said he and the team are looking forward to welcoming customers when they open.

“We have our hands full getting ready to launch both our sixth Renoufs and our new cheese shop within days of each other at the beginning of December,” he continued.

“It’s a very difficult time for the hospitality industry, and I currently have 40 very valuable employees on furlough.

“We have to stay positive and look beyond the days of being locked down and focus on our future both as a business and as an employer.

“My team and I are all looking forward to returning to some form of reality and seeing our lovely customers again.”

My Ayling said he hopes to open the bar on December 4, just after the lockdown ends.

It will become the sixth bar, joining the Westbourne, Southbourne, Wimborne, Verwood and Lyndhurst sites.

The Canford Cliffs bar will create jobs for three people looking for full time work, and six people looking for part time work.
