A SPEEDING taxi driver reportedly told officers "we have to get to our job quickly" after being stopped in Poole.
Officers from the Dorset Police No Excuse team were patrolling the area of Constitution Hill on the evening of Wednesday, November 11, following speed complaints.
The taxi was reportedly seen "impatiently over taking a vehicle up the hill on the wrong side of the road at 42mph in the 30mph limit, in horrendous wind and rain".
A spokesperson for the team said:When stopped the taxi driver said 'you know, we have to get to our job quickly'. This was not acceptable, with junctions either side and vehicles coming down the hill.
"This was a professional driver, who received 3pts and £100 fine."
A second speeding driver, who reportedly said "now there's no roadworks, it's freedom" after being clocked at 42mph, was issued with a ticket for three points on his licence and a £100 fine.
