A MAN who made off from two petrol stations in Poole without paying on seven occasions for a total of almost £400 of diesel over a two-month period has appeared in court.

Andrew Mark Thomas, aged 54, admitted seven counts of making off without payment when he appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on November 5.

The defendant, whose address was given as Canford Cliffs Road, Poole, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for the offences, which involved a total of £394.65 in fuel.

Two of the crimes took place at Lilliput Petrol Station in Sandbanks Road, Poole, on December 9 and December 12, 2019.

The other five were all at Tesco in Poole Road, Branksome, on December 15, December 21, December 27, 2019, January 7, January 12.

District judge Stephen Nicholls ordered Thomas to pay £97.72 compensation to Lilliput Petrol Station and £196.63 to Tesco.
