THE number of patients who have died in Dorset hospitals with coronavirus since the start of the pandemic now exceeds 200 following further deaths in recent days.

Three more patients who tested positive for coronavirus died at Poole Hospital.

NHS England's daily update issued on Sunday, November 8, confirmed one death occurred on Thursday, November 5, and two occurred on Friday, November 6.

Dorset's coronavirus hospital death totals throughout the pandemic now stand at 85 for Poole Hospital, 77 for Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals, 25 for Dorset County Hospital and 17 for Dorset Healthcare sites.

On Saturday, the NHS England reported five coronavirus deaths across Dorset hospitals.

These updates over the weekend have taken the Dorset hospitals Covid-19 death figure to 204 people.

NHS England said across the country a further 122 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus, have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 34,496.

Six of these deaths, including the three at Poole, were in hospitals across the south west.
