THE weekly number of coronavirus cases recorded among Bournemouth University's staff and students has fallen, according to the latest update from the educational institution.
Providing an update on Friday, November 6, the university said there had been 39 new cases in the past seven days.
This compared to a total of 47 reported in last week's release.
A statement from Bournemouth University said: "We are continuing to see a small number of new cases at the university.
"The number of new positive cases at the university in the last seven days stands at 39 across the whole BU population of 1,723 staff and 16,606 students.
"This figure is the number of new cases reported to us, regardless of location, with some members of the BU community working and studying outside the BCP area."
The BU cases are already included in the totals reported by both the government and Public Health Dorset.
- No further Dorset hospital deaths reported involving patients with Covid-19
- More than 200 new Covid-19 cases in Dorset
- Covid-19 patients in Dorset hospital beds continues to rise
The university said the new cases are "distributed throughout the university and there is no significant outbreak in any particular course, hall of residence or other part of the institution".
