NO FURTHER patients in Dorset's hospitals have died with coronavirus in the latest NHS update.

However, 218 people across England, who tested positive for Covid-19, have died.

This brings the total number of confirmed reported coronavirus deaths in hospitals nationally to 34,091.

The update released by NHS England on Friday, November 6, said these 218 patients were aged between 42 and 100 years old, with all except nine - aged 48-91 - having known underlying health conditions.

The deaths took place between October 7 and November 5. Their families have been informed.

Five of the deaths took place in hospitals in the south west region.

Dorset's coronavirus hospital death totals throughout the pandemic remain at 80 for Poole Hospital, 75 for Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals, 24 for Dorset County Hospital and 17 for Dorset Healthcare sites.
