There have been 111 new cases of coronavirus recorded in Cumbria during the last 24 hours, according to the latest data from Public Health England.

This marks a decrease for Cumbria as a whole - with the exception of Carlisle which recorded the majority of the cases with 47.

The number of daily confirmed cases of coronavirus by Cumbria borough as of 4.11pm on Sunday, October 25:

  • Allerdale: 773 (+19);
  • Barrow-in-Furness: 1,425 (+16);
  • Carlisle: 1,459 (+47);
  • Copeland: 644 (+8);
  • Eden: 504 (+11);
  • South Lakeland: 1,220 (+10);

Three new deaths have been recorded by NHS trusts with hospitals in Cumbria during the weekend.

NHS England figures released on Saturday included a new death at the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust - which operates the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven - recorded on October 22.

The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust - which runs hospitals in south Cumbria as well as Lancashire - announced three new deaths in Saturday's figures.

The data shows two of the deaths were recorded on October 23 and one on October 21.
