A BMW driver has been given a roadside fine after speeding past an unmarked police car while 'rushing home from a round of golf',
Dorset Police No Excuse Team stopped the a BMW driver after he overtook an unmarked police car while travelling at 92mph on the A35 on Friday.
When questioned on why he was speeding, the driver said he was 'rushing home from a round of golf.'
Police do not normally issue roadside fines, however, the driver informed police he was going to the United States and would not be returning to the UK for months, if at all.
A spokesman for Dorset Police No Excuse Team said: "This therefore left us no option but to change this to a roadside fine to ensure it was dealt with.
"The driver will also be issued with a UK licence number in due course so the three points can be recorded.
"We don't issue roadside fines often but we can if we believe the driver will leave the country before the fixed penalty or court process can be completed."
