FOOD Warehouse has confirmed its new Weymouth branch will open its doors in January next year - and create 30 jobs.
As previously reported, the supermarket, run by retail giants Iceland, revealed plans to open a new supermarket inside the former Aldi at Jubilee Retail Park.
The retail chain sells frozen, chilled, and fresh food as well as homeware, cleaning products, toys, and alcohol at affordable prices.
Two planning applications to install branded signage around the store and Jubilee Retail Park have not yet been approved by Dorset Council.
The new supermarket will create 30 jobs as Food Warehouse has started to recruit for new workers to work part time.
According to its careers website, Food Warehouse is looking for home delivery drivers, team leader, retail assistants and online pickers.
A spokeswoman for Food Warehouse confirmed the store will open its doors on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
There will also be a chance for shoppers to win a £50 voucher to spend in-store via an online competition nearer to its opening.
She said: “The Food Warehouse is opening new stores up and down the country in retail parks and larger shopping districts. Each store is given a high-quality warehouse style fit out, and covers between 8,000 and 25,000 sq. ft. of retail space. The new store in Weymouth store is due to open early 2021.
“The Food Warehouse offers great value, family-favourite products across frozen, chilled, fresh, branded grocery and homeware lines.
“With big deals across many big brands, customers can make great savings with bulk deals where savings are passed directly onto shoppers. There are special ‘When It’s Gone, It’s Gone’ offers too, where customers can purchase selected homeware lines at outstanding value.
“The Food Warehouse also has a number of exclusive partnerships with brands including Slimming World and Greggs.
“Local residents can also look out for the store opening Facebook event a week prior to opening for a chance to win a £50 voucher to spend in-store.”
