PARENTS have been contacted by Ringwood School informing them a member of the school community has tested positive for Covid-19.

The letter, from headteacher Leanne Symonds, also confirmed a small number of children who had been in close contact with the individual who tested positive have been told to stay at home for 14 days.

Mrs Symonds told parents: "We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.

"Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (Covid-19) will be a mild illness."

The letter also reminds parents that if their child develops symptoms of Covid-19, they must not come to school and should remain at home for at least ten days from the date their symptoms appeared.
