AN uninsured driver who claimed his partner was unable to drive because she needed the toilet has appeared in court.

Robert John Jackson originally denied driving with no insurance.

But he later pleaded guilty when he appeared before Poole magistrates and was fined £675.

Jackson, 41, of Viscount Walk, Bearwood, Bournemouth admitted driving a Honda Civic in Wallisdown Road on November 11 last year with no insurance.

He was also ordered to pay a £68 victim surcharge and £105 costs. His driving record endorsed with six points.

A spokesman for the Dorset Police no Excuse team said: "The driver stated his partner and insured party sat next to him couldn't drive as she needed the toilet. You either have insurance or you don't."
