A MEMBER of staff has tested positive for Covid-19 at Corfe Hills School.

In a letter sent to parents today, the school said the staff member was last in the school on Monday, October 12.

The school has been in contact with Public Health England and remains open.

The letter reads: “We have been made aware of a member of our school community who has tested positive for Covid-19. The person who has tested positive is a member of staff and was last in school on Monday, October 12.

“Having spoken to the person who has tested positive and completed contact tracing, we have no reason to believe that this case is result of in-school transmission.”

“We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.”

It continues: “The small number of students who have been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for coronavirus have received a letter informing them that their child must stay at home for 14 days.

“The school remains open and providing your child remains well they can continue to attend school as normal. We will keep this under review.

“Unless you have been notified that your child is a close contact, you do not need to take any further action.”
