STUDENTS at Twynham School are self-isolating after a Year 8 pupil tested positive for coronavirus.
Close contacts of the student, who has not been in school since October7, have been contacted and given advice about self-isolation.
In a letter to parents, head teacher Jy Taylor said: "We have engaged with Public Health England and Public Health Dorset and we are working closely with them, including following their procedures and advice to identify specific risks and manage this situation. We will continue to monitor and review this situation.
"Due to the extensive measures that we have already implemented upon re-opening the school, including the use of specific seating plans and the ‘bubbling’ of year groups, the only additional action required is for a small number of students being required to self-isolate for 14 days from last contact with the positive case as a precaution as advised by the Test and Trace Service."
Last month a staff member at the Sopers Lane school tested positive for coronavirus.
