POLICE called to help staff eject two drunk men from a bar have warned the public about the law.
Officers were called to Ashley Cross at around 10pm last night.
A spokesman for Poole police said: "Under section 143 of the licensing act, it is an offence to fail to leave a licensed premise when asked to do so by a member of staff - you must leave.
"We often spend time outside licensed premises trying to explain this to people once they have been ejected. Police have no jurisdiction in such decisions and cannot influence their change. It is best to leave and continue your evening elsewhere."
