A SPEEDING motorcyclist with a defective number plate rode off after being stopped by police.

The motorbike was stopped in Lilliput in Poole on Wednesday October 14 after being seen overtaking another motorist "when there was no need to."

A spokesman for the Dorset Police No Excuse team said: "The rider initially stopped in the Canford Cliffs area but before the officer had a chance to speak with them about the matters, they turned and rode off.

"The keeper of the motorcycle has been identified and enquires are now being progressed to deal with offences of excess speed, displaying a non-conforming number plate and fail to stop for police."
