ANOTHER Dorset school has confirmed a positive test of coronavirus.

Dorset Studio School, based within Kingston Maurward Estate, is a secondary school for pupils which specialises in studies on land and the environment whilst also teaching the national curriculum.

Dr Annetta Minard, executive principal of the school, has written to parents and carers confirming the news of a Covid-19 case on Tuesday.

The school remains open during this time as the infected person self-isolates.

In the letter, she said: "We have been advised by Public Health England that there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within Dorset Studio School.

"We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England. This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child.

"The school remains open and since your child has not been in close contact with the individual concerned within the past 48 hours, they can continue to attend school as normal. We will keep this under review."

The letter continues to state that if a child develops symptoms of Covid-19, he or she must be tested via the NHS online portal or by calling 119. The household should also isolate until they receive the test results giving the all-clear.
