TWO POOLE schools have confirmed cases of coronavirus in letters sent to parents.

Heatherlands Primary School and Magna Academy have (Tuesday, October 13) revealed that a member from both school communities has contracted Covid-19.

The letter from Magna Academy says: "We have been made aware that a member of our school community has tested positive for Covid-19.

"We know that you may find this concerning, but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.

"The individual who tested positive for Covid-19 adhered to social distancing guidelines and was not in close contact with students.

"The one member of staff who has been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for coronavirus has received a letter informing them that they must stay at home for 14 days."

The letter also states that the school will remain open and if a child is well, they should continue attending.
