A BOURNEMOUTH school has informed parents of a confirmed coronavirus case within the school community.

Today, October 13, a letter has been sent to parents of pupils from St Peter's Catholic School to make them aware of the situation.

The letter says: "We have been made aware that a member of our school community has tested positive for Covid-19.

"We know that you may find this concerning, but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England."

This is the second time St Peter's has asked pupils to self-isolate.

A case was confirmed in the school's secondary phase in mid-September.

The latest letter goes on to inform parents that the children who are in a class bubble with the individual who has tested positive will receive a letter detailing how they must stay home until Tuesday, October 20.

Those pupils have been advised to remain at home for at least 10 days from the date when theri symptons appeared.

The letter adds: "All other household members who remain well, must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. This includes anyone in your 'Support Bubble'".
