PLANS for an open-air alpine village in Bournemouth this Christmas are again under discussion.
Earlier this month BCP Council announced details of a "covid-conscious" event despite the cancellation of the Christmas Tree Wonderland and ice skating.
But since then Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced further coronavirus restrictions.
Cllr Vikki Slade, acting Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Leisure and Communities, said: “We are committed to working with organisers and partners to delivering the best possible Christmas offering in Bournemouth whilst ensuring it is safe for visitors and businesses alike. Further details will be issued in due course and plans for Poole and Christchurch continue.”
The planned event would run from November 13 until January 3 and include market stalls and a bar in The Square.
There would be fewer market stalls than usual to allow for social distancing and the bar would be single-storey.
