A TECH company that promises to handle all the admin involved in moving house is one of just 31 businesses nationwide picked for a growth programme.

Bournemouth-based Just Move In simplifies home moves by setting up essential services like council tax, water, energy, broadband and insurance.

As well as handling the admin, it recommends the service providers that will best match the movers, based on customer service, long-term value and ethics.

The company has been picked for a fintech (financial technology) programme run by the government-funded by Tech Nation, which saw a rise of almost 20 per cent in applications on last year.

Tech Nation’s six-month programme supports founders and leaders, offering insight sessions from established entrepreneurs, investors and partners in the sector. They cover topics such as sales, partnerships with incumbents and expanding internationally.

Ross Nichols, co-founder of Just Move In, based in Bournemouth’s Commercial Road, said: “We’re massively excited to be joining the fintech programme. Having the opportunity to discuss learnings and challenges with so many great fintech businesses is going to be incredibly valuable. We’re looking forward to getting involved with Tech Nation as much as possible.”

Just Move In is also used by estate agents, conveyancing firms, banks and retailers to help their clients simpliy moving.

Sixty per cent of the companies picked for the Tech Nation programme are based outside London.

Liam Gray, fintech lead at Tech Nation, said: “The UK fintech ecosystem is truly world leading and its strength is clearly demonstrated by the calibre of companies on this year’s Tech Nation fintech programme. Our third cohort will officially introduce insurtechs to the programme, a sub-segment of fintech that has matured significantly in recent years.

“This cohort will also be the most geographically diverse group of fintechs we’ve ever had, with 60 per cent located outside of London, highlighting the growing prevalence of regional fintech hubs.”
