CASES of coronavirus have been confirmed at two more Dorset schools.

Queen's Park Infant Academy reported a confirmed case yesterday and all close contacts were notified and advised to self-isolate for 14 days.

Some students have also been asked to isolate after a case was confirmed at Gillingham School on Thursday.

Sam Crowe, Director of Public Health for Dorset and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Councils said: "We are aware of a confirmed case of COVID-19 at Gillingham Secondary School. The school are working closely with Public Health Dorset, Dorset Council and Public Health England South West to ensure that all necessary measures are being met.

"All close contacts of the confirmed case have been notified and advised to self-isolate for 14-days. Contacts of the confirmed case should get tested if they go on to develop symptoms. Even if people test negative, they must still self-isolate for 14-days."

It brings the total number of schools across the county who have reported confirmed cases to 13.

Affected schools in Bournemouth are Queen's Park Infant Academy, Pokesdown Community Primary School, Queen's Park Academy, Kingsleigh Primary School and St Peter's School. Others are Poole Grammar School, Gillingham School, QE School in Wimborne, Lytchett Minster School, Merley First School, Yewstock School in Sturminster Newton, The Gryphon School in Sherborne and St Mark's Primary School in Swanage.
