A TAKEAWAY has closed temporarily after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus.
Bosses from Andy’s Takeaway on Walney said the shop, in Hasting Lane, would be closed until October 1 following a positive test.
A post on social media said: “Due to a member of staff testing positive for Covid 19 we have been in contact with environmental health to seek advice.
“We have taken the decision to close until Thursday 1st October to protect our staff and customers.
“We thank you all for your continued support and look forward to seeing you all when we reopen. Stay safe everyone.”
There have been 41 new cases of coronavirus recorded in the Barrow area over the last seven days according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
That figure marked a 17 per cent increase in cases from the previous week.
