EMERGENCY services rushed to reports of a car fire in Bournemouth after a vehicle was involved in a crash with a set of traffic lights.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene of the incident in Castle Lane West shortly before 3pm today.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 2.48pm on Wednesday, September 23, to a report of a collision involving a car and traffic lights on Castle Lane West in Bournemouth.

"It was reported that the car was on fire. Officers attended, along with the ambulance and fire services. There were no reports of any injuries.

"The road reopened at around 4pm."

The fire service said a crew from Redhill Park attended the one-vehicle crash.

They were only required to make the scene safe, a spokeswoman said, with the stop message coming at 3.04pm.
