A WOMAN who stolen an iron from John Lewis and a television from Tesco has been ordered to pay compensation to the retail giants.
Mary Julie Johnson, aged 37, took a Tefal steam iron, valued at £189.99, from John Lewis in Poole on June 11, 2019.
The previous day she stole a TV, valued at £175, from Tesco in Ferndown.
Appearing at Poole Magistrates’ Court on September 18, Johnson, whose address was given as Stanbridge Road, Tilsworth, Leighton Buzzard, admitted two counts of theft.
She was ordered to pay £95 compensation to John Lewis and £87.50 compensation to Tesco, along with a charge of £85 for court costs.
The defendant also admitted commission of a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge order for two theft offences. No action was taken on this breach.
