A DRIVER who swerved to avoid crashing into the back of an unmarked police car was dealt with for driving without due care and attention.

Officers from the Dorset Police No Excuse team were in stationary traffic on the A350 on Sunday when another vehicle narrowly missed colliding with theirs.

A spokesman said: "The driver was driving too fast to react to the stationary traffic and reacted by braking hard and going into the opposite carriageway to avoid colliding into the rear of our vehicle. This also left marks on the road.

"The driver said 'I didn’t expect to see cars queueing'. This driver was dealt with for driving without due care and attention."
